"We've Spent N31 Billion To Combat Coronavirus In Nigeria" - FG
The Federal Government has revealed that it has spent N31 billion in the space of four months to combat COVID-19 in the country.
The Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, opined that the amount spent so far represents 84% of the N36.3 billion public funds and contributions received to respond to COVID-19 between 1st April, 2020 and 31st, July, 2020.
According to the statement released by the Accountant-General of the Federation in response to the Freedom of Information request, which was sent to him by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and Connected Development (CODE), it was disclosed that there's a balance of N5.9 billion from the contributions gathered.
