Ikuemonisan Bababo Major Said He Finally Got His Book Published by A German Firm

For some days now I have been busy. Quite engaged that I had less social media appearance, unable to check my mail and had to halt a research work at hand. Particularly worried I haven't checked my mail which was quite unlike me, I eventually checked yesterday night and guess what, I received with delight the mail of GRIN Publishing GmbH (A Germany based firm) that my paper "OLUGBO-OONI OF IFE CONTROVERSY: MANIPULATION OF HISTORY OR FACT FROM ANTIQUITY" has been published and now available online. Wow! I was delighted and truly I am still. Although, the title has been modified by the distinguished scholars that constitute the Editorial board at GRIN Publishing to "THE KINGDOMS "OLUGBO OF UGBO" AND "OONI OF IFE" : A MANIPULATION OF HISTORY OR A FACT FROM ANTIQUITY" which is even more apt for discourse on Yoruba history for a global audience. Be it my initial title or the modified title by the board of Editors at GRIN Publishing (made up of seasoned and distinguished Scholars), I am elated to examine this historical research of intense topicality during the COVID-19 lockdown and immensely glad that readers will enjoy a paper well explored and articulated.

However, significant to say that by the content of this cerebral work, I do not intend to cause rancour but rather provoke more researches with scholarly accuracy to engage the existing library on Yoruba origin and perhaps illuminate the account of a surpressed people in Yoruba Historiography. Therefore, should anybody or group of people feel offended by the content of this work, I sincerely apologise and challenge them to unearth facts of history in own scholarly work. After all, history is an endless dialogue.

Brexit: EU threatens UK with legal action if plans for controversial bill are not reversed

Resident doctors suspend their nationwide strike

  The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended the nationwide industrial action.   The association began the strike on Monday, September 7 to press home their demand which includes payments of its COVID-19 allowances, health insurance for frontline workers and others.   The President of NARD, Dr Aliyu Sokumba, confirmed the suspension of the strike this evening. The suspension came after the Federal Government and the doctors reached an agreement at a meeting presided over by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, in Abuja today.   At the meeting, the FG made it known that it had paid N9.3bn to insurance companies for Life Group Insurance and payment of death benefits for health workers, adding that enrolment was by the submission of nominal rolls by the various health institutions, which NARD had been mandated at a previous meeting to accomplish.   On the payment of outstanding 2014, 2015, and 2016 arrears, th...
